Caucasian Opportunities is a Naarm-based DJ, curator, and host whose genre-fluid sets move effortlessly through bass, jungle, techno, and ghetto beats. Her sound is shaped by the duality of her cultural upbringing, drawing on early UK grime, rave lineage, and the rhythmic DNA of Black American club music. She is the force behind Urban Analytics, an event series spotlighting POC selectors and pushing forward-thinking sounds into the spotlight.
On For The Honeys Volume 43, she leans into the introspective nature of winter, curating a mix sourced from deep dives and digital crate-digging. “Since it's gotten colder, I haven’t been out much, I’ve been discovering music mostly through my phone,” she says. “A lot of these tracks came from internet finds and compilations, which makes the mix feel kind of unpredictable at times. Stylistically, I was inspired by the Slow Focus Mixtape on NTS, where all the tracks were married to each other through sound but the mixing mimics generic radio with some mixing here and there.”
The cohesion lies in tone and texture rather than strict beat matching, with transitions that feel more like flipping through late-night radio than a traditional club set.
