The Billie Eilish x Nike Air Alpha Force 88 delves into the archives to resurrect an '80s hardwood classic that has been elevated with sustainable updates whilst honouring its baller roots. This collaborative effort will mark the model’s re-introduction into the sneaker scene and despite it being an oft-forgotten model, the shoe has a major accolade tied to its name. Jordan famously wore the Chicago-esque Alpha Force model during a match up against the Knicks in January 1988. This was one of the rare instances where Jordan wore a shoe outside of his signature line. Interestingly enough, this was also a tumultuous time between the Jordan brand and Nike as fans were not impressed with the Jordan 2 and Tinker Hatfield was still developing the Jordan 3. Eilish's interpretation sees the model take on similar design cues as its OG predecessor, from the tri-tone colourway, Nike Air forefoot straps and perforated detailing throughout. Keeping in line with the pop star's sustainable efforts, the shoe has been crafted using vegan leather. Branding is kept tasteful with the "AAF88 FORCE" motifs on the tongues and specially co-branded insoles whilst polyurethane and rubber sole units containing Nike Air cushioning underfoot, offer reliable traction and grip on the hardwood.
