Air Rift OG "Kenya"
The Nike Air Rift OG "Kenya" has always been dubbed as one of the most revolutionary styles by the Swoosh, from it's unique sources of inspiration to its carefully engineered specs, this year sees the return of this '90s cult classic in all of its original glory. The shoe's name was inspired by the Great Rift Valley - a breathtaking land formation that connects Asia and Africa, however the actual shoe itself was inspired by Kenyan distance runners and their exceptional barefoot running technique. The Tinker Hatfield design first hit shelves in 1996 in the US and UK, but soon gained notoriety in Japan where it became street-style staple. Arriving in the same black, forest green and red fit-out as the original, the shoe features a unique split toe design complete with neoprene uppers that are finished with velcro fastening on the midfoot and heels. A cushioned Phylon midsole for impact protection rests within a toe-guarded rubber outsole underfoot. Finishing off the design are embroidered Swoosh on the forefoot and NIKE monikers on the heels.
